The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently traveling to the Fernie 2 Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render services on the community.

SASSA will likely be rendering services for instance new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer care enquiries, together with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a press release, the agency stated it is alarmed with regard to the large variety of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The intention of the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to some high number of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is often a result of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no absolutely functional office devoted to service the area every day. The support level produced for intervention ordeals a significant influx of possible beneficiaries, which makes it tough to the office to attend to all people who take a look at a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise more methods to permit the servicing of all clients and maximize use of status sassa Social Assistance companies,” the agency said.

For more information, community members can call toll free during working days/hours on 0800 60 10 11 status sassa and WhatsApp SRD on 082 046 8553. - SAnews.gov.za
